Hey everyone! Glake here of The Virtual Cavern!

As you have probably noticed after visiting this page, the TVC Blog site is looking a bit bear these days. That’s because I’ve decided to start a fresh slate for the Blog site, where all updates for everything TVC related now and onwards will be posted here. In the past, we’ve had updates posted here regarding lists of things to come, many of which were never delivered, as well as glimpses into future TVC seasons – this ultimately gave me the desire to start a fresh slate overall as things will be much more organized going forward.

The TVC vision was born back in 2012, at what I would say was during the peak of my creative endeavors which lead me to begin working on a lot of the projects I am still currently working on today. Among the few that I am still working on till this day, The Virtual Cavern is the only project is dedicated to the cause to help and promote other creators and their projects. Over the years that have followed, obviously things have slowed down in development, sped up, and then slowed down once again – and so on. In this update however, I want to give you all the first what I feel is “genuine” and “authentic” update about where things are headed and what is in store for what I am happy to announce to be the Virtual Cavern 2018-2019 Season!

2018-2019 Poetry Podcast Season

Instead of drafting up a lengthy list of desired endeavors for TVC in this upcoming season, I’d like to spend some time talking about the type of content we will be doing immediately following the kickoff the new season. For starters, you can expect to see a lot of what we have already been doing in the past, yet on a much more consistent and organized basis. “The Poetry Podcast” will be making it’s return a few weeks before the official season kickoff, as we are currently changing the format of the Podcast a little bit, though instead of a Podcast only twice a week, a new episode will be available for listening Monday – Friday. The Podcast will now be split into two different editions, your current regular edition of “The Poetry Podcast” which will be a short, brief episode, solely featuring a reading of 1-2 poems; the other edition being “The Poetry Podcast: Poet Spotlight Edition”, which will 1-2 poems written by a specific poet while also giving you a brief intro about the writer. We’ve done something similar to this edition in the past, however found it quite difficult to do on a consistent basis due to not every poet interested in having themselves featured and sharing information about themselves. This is understandable, and ultimately the reason why I’ve decided to split the Poetry into two different editions.

‘KickStart Me!’ Pieces Return!

Of course, we could not kick off consistent content once again without the addition of the “KickStart Me!” series. Throughout the past few months, I have been aiming to make this series as consistent as possible once again, however with a hectic schedule once again plaguing me, I’ve ultimately been unable to get these out as often as I’d like. With that said, moving forward I will fortunately have much more time to dedicate towards content on the site, and the “KickStart Me!” series is most certainly included in that. You can expect new KickStart Me spotlights 2-3 times every week, as well as potential follow-ups with the creators when their projects fully funded. This is something we haven’t done in the past, but also feel fits well into the series as readers can get an insight into the developments and other thoughts behind the project, from the creator themselves.

We’re Making A YouTube Channel!

For quite sometime now, I’ve been aiming to expand the TVC content through other media outlets outside of our personal website. Outlets that will in which allow us to create other forms of content while also promoting other creators, but at the same time will not restrict us to written content only. With that said, I’m happy to say that we will be launching a YouTube channel very very soon! While the channel will ultimately be used as a platform do feature a wide variety of categorized content, it will play a very heavy focus on promoting music artists, as well as releasing interviews. We will be sure to keep you all updated on the developments regarding the official YouTube channel as we begin to get things setup, so stay tuned!

Music IS the Future!

Moving forward with TVC in this next season, it will be quite apparent that our push towards focusing on promoting more music related projects and creators will be quite a serious one. We feel as though the music industry is going through a very interesting transition right now, and for awhile I have felt there that are so many artists and creators out there that are not getting the attention they deserve. I hope with this push and addition to creating more music focused content that we will be able to contribute to these artists in one way or another.

In closing, it’s important to note that there are a lot of different types of content as well as directions we will be endeavoring in within this upcoming season and a lot sooner than you probably think. As I stated earlier, instead of writing up a draft of lofty goals and aspirations as far as where I want to be with the project, I wanted to announce the next season by letting you all know what to expect when the season kicks off, day one. I have not been this excited to continue TVC developments since I began the project in 2012, and with that said I feel this will be the biggest season for the project yet!
